Malahide, Co Dublin

This was an exciting project that required various changes to be made within the existing building.

An extension was built with large, sliding doors and windows that took advantage of the wonderful back garden.

Opulent grey tiling was added to the flooring in the kitchen that tied the room together that gave a feeling of luxury throughout the kitchen and dining room space.

Project Overview

The client for this project wanted to make a lot of changes around the house. Firstly, they wanted to extend the house to the rear of the property. They also wanted to add in a new front door and a new entrance hall, as well as requiring all of the windows to be replaced.

For this project, we worked closely with the client and the design team in order to make a stunning, new kitchen-cum-dining room with a new sitting room separated from the kitchen/diner by a lush wood sliding door. In the kitchen, we did a full fit out with a new island with a white countertop and an attached wooden breakfast bar. The client wanted a lot of storage, so we fitted storage areas under the island, under the main counter, and around the oven/grill.

The client also wanted a luxurious feel in the kitchen. To accomplish this, we provided opulent grey tiling for the floor that tied the room together that gave a feeling of luxury throughout the kitchen and dining room space.

Finally in the kitchen, the client wanted the room to be bright and spacious, so we built the extension with large sliding window doors to ensure that we took advantage of the garden, and with the doors open it makes the room open, bright and welcoming. This also made the space look much bigger, meaning that the client could take full advantage of the space.

In the sitting room, we had minimal work to do, it was all about the flooring for this room. It was decided between us, the client and the design team that a wooden floor stretching from the sitting room into the entry hall would look the best, and the result turned out to be better than any of us anticipated.

The entrance hall was one of the larger jobs for this build. We had to completely remove the front door and reinstall a new one. The client chose a composite door with frosted windows on both sides, which contributed to the impressive exterior design of the house.

The client also wanted each window in the home to be replaced with more modern, better-glazed windows. The end effect was stunning, and really brought the facade of the house to life.
