St Fintans Church, Sutton

For this project, we were tasked with creating two self-contained apartments out of an existing building that would provide a high level of comfort and privacy for the occupants.

A rear extension was fitted that combined the kitchen, sitting room and diner into an open-plan space.

There were a few challenges to overcome as the house is an old build, but all insulation and heating issues were successfully resolved.

Project Overview

We were awarded a contract to convert a house accommodating two priests and a housekeeper. What was decided upon was to convert the building into two self-contained apartments that would provide a high level of comfort and privacy to their occupants.

We had a few challenges to overcome as the house is an old build, its insulation required a complete upgrade, the roof was completely flat and was exposed to the elements causing a lot of cold to come into the house. We completely removed the old insulation and upgraded it to the best level of modern insulation. This meant that the heating didn’t have to be on constantly, and the clients didn’t have to pay huge heating bills.

We left this job delighted with the outcome, as were the clients and the parish finance council. We made sure that we delivered the best quality product that we could.

More recently, we have been back to do some tidy up work and made sure that any outstanding issues were dealt with in the quickest and most efficient manner.
